The pictures on the airbnb site do not even begin to reflect how incredible this property is! The house is 7500 sq ft of magnificence, beauty, and unique decor. The grounds are spectacular with the pool overlooking the tranquil creek, the decks and patio. There were 10 of us here for the week celebrating my son’s graduation from Virginia Tech. We decided to come early so we could enjoy the property and create family memories. We were NOT disappointed. There were plenty of bedrooms, with three large levels of living space with three decks that included a billiards area. The outdoor pool space was amazing – we enjoyed so much family time out there! The caretaker is amazing! She attended to everything, provided us with recommendations for restaurants and sights, and she was so friendly. I highly suggest this spot for families looking to celebrate any occasion (reunions, graduations, etc). We were truly ‘disconnected’ from the everyday TV life, and enjoyed music, nature, grilling, and pool time. We enjoyed morning coffee and tea listening to the sounds of the creek and birds. We took walks along the creek and watched the deer wade in the water. I would love to come back someday!

Brookwood is a little paradise on its cliffside waterfront location. The views, inside and out, are extraordinary. Extremely highly recommended!

Our family gathered for the second time at this unique location. The setting makes it a delight for any that love “the woods,” with a babbling brook nearby, songbirds serenading, AND a fun pool too! Two granddaughters learned to dive this week, and all had fun. The “secret room” is a treasure for our young grandson. It’s a lovely place in a beautiful area of our country. We hope to return to Brookwood House for our next family gathering.

Stop whatever you are doing and book this property! The pictures, frankly, do not do this place justice. From the vaulted ceilings, and cathedral windows throughout the house letting in streams of light, to the four porches/balconies/decks, to the easy access to nature walks throughout the property and down to the creek, to the comfortable beds and beautiful accommodations for all of your guests, and the fully stocked gourmet kitchen – this is a dream of an Airbnb.
Seven of us went for a long weekend to celebrate a 30th birthday and there could be no more perfect place for a gathering of close friends and family. You can tell this place is loved and cared for by the attention to detail in all of the rooms. Thank you to the incredible team of folks (the hosts & caretaker), for making our weekend incredibly special!

5 stars is not nearly enough! Photos and words don’t do this place justice. Brookwood is a unique experience, from the custom home, and decorations, to the location on Back Creek. For exceptional experiences, there should be 6 stars, and this tops the list. We’ve stayed in Airbnb’s in France and Greece, in cave homes in Santorini, but I was not prepared for Brookwood. Every different view, and each wall, or countertop, or mantle, or lighting fixture, or sink, or the massive pool (literally above the creek). I’m guessing that it’s a mated pair of screech owls that we listened to each night, only yards off the back deck. Just when we thought we were done with Virginia, we found this diamond in the hills of Roanoke.

Everything was even more beautiful than the photos and all of the artwork is amazing. The hosts were kind and the communication was easy. The home is perfect for family gatherings, but I can also imagine would be an incredible quiet retreat. We hope to be back soon for another family dinner. The kitchen is divine and the views are so calming
